Hi Liz and everyone,

Some people have to work, so they might not have a lot of time to post!! (Ha, Ha!)

This is my recreation after school! I am so glad I have off on Thursday and Friday.

Mike and I are going to see Cherish the Ladies tonight at Lafayette. (Irish group with Joanie Madden, flute and other groups as well - John Doyle...)

Great North Kerry Set last night. Now we have to get that good at the other sets.

Jeanie

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a good break from class, althogh some of us (7 altoghther) had to recover BIG TIME from the Matt Cunningham ceili! Lots of fun, lively, and fast dancing - especially Ballyvourney)

Music was amazing with Matt Cunningham on the accordian, fiddle (violin), tin whistle and vocals. There was a wonderful flute and the keyboard player and, of course, Aidan Vaughan from Kilfenora, County Clare, on drums. Aidan also did, as usual, his sean nos (traditional, old style) dancing at the break.

People at the hall were very friendly and welcoming.

On Monday, we will start Clare Lancers which a lot of us already have done recently or used to do a long time ago!
it's a lively, moving dance.

See you Monday!

Jeanie

Hello dancers who were at class on Monday:

Great job on the beginning of the Clare Lancers. We will do figures 4 and 5 next week to finish off the dance. Then we will do the whole dance! It's going very well and Mike and I are very pleased and excited! it's not really that hard at all!

Thank you to everyone! Our ceili was truly a success with a great turnout. We had 2 sets of the 16-Hand Reel, 4 High-Cauled Caps, 2 Ballyvourney along with 2 sets of Haymaker's, 2 - 3 Tunes, 3 Kilfenora and N. Kerry, 2 Clare Lancers and Connemara Reel. Almost everyone got up to dance the progressive ceili dances, 2-Hands and Circle Waltz.
Again, many thanks to members and those who attended.
